But everything is double-sided, there can be no “shortboard”, PoE switches are no exception, and some of its shortcomings and disadvantages do not apply at some point. The distance between the camera and the switch is much larger than 100 meters.

The power supply of the PoE switch needs to be implemented through the network cable. In the monitoring, in order to ensure the smooth and clear monitoring screen, the distance between the camera and the PoE switch cannot exceed 100 meters, otherwise, the video data will be lost.

Solution: The power supply distance is greater than 100 meters, and less than 200 meters, you can use the Fengrunda PS504E, PS2082E to power the 250-meter PoE switch, or use other power supply. If the distance is greater than 250 meters, it is best to use other power supply methods.

The very large monitoring system

Although PoE switches are very suitable for network monitoring, for a very large network monitoring system, any mistake can cause the entire monitoring system to collapse. Very large monitoring means that there are many monitoring points and thousands of monitoring.

Solution: For ultra-large monitoring, for insurance, it is best to choose the traditional power supply. If you want to use PoE power supply, you must combine the number of cameras, aggregation switches, and core switches to properly select PoE switches. Remember.

The power of the network equipment is greater than 25W

PoE power supply has two standards, AF and AT standard, no matter what standard, the maximum power supply is allowed to exceed 30W. Take the at standard, in addition to the loss, the actual received power obtained by the powered device is 25.5W, so if the power of the network device exceeds 25W, the PoE power supply is basically not considered.

Solution: Use other power supply methods, such as mains supply, centralized power supply, etc.
